Modular home provides comfortable accommodation for farm workers in rural WA

Aussie Bush Cabins recently completed a modular home build in Burrocoppin, Western Australia. The client, a local retiree, was looking for an affordable housing option for himself when going out to the farm, and additional farm workers.

They run a wheat, canola and sheep farm in Burrocoppin. Since their location is remote, it’s easier for workers to stay on the farm during peak season. They reached out to Aussie Bush Cabins inquiring about our range of modular homes and ended up choosing to work with us because we were a local reputable company that could deliver on time.

Most companies don’t like installing homes in rural areas, but at Aussie Bush Cabins, we enjoy working with farmers and going out into the country!

We quickly pointed them towards our workman range, where we have over 8 different cabin options to choose from. Even though we have a set range of cabins available, which is meant to help guide customers through the building process, we are flexible in our designs allowing customization along the way.

The client chose to adapt an existing plan by adding a bedroom and a few other customizations. The modular home is 15m in length, 4m in width, containing one bedroom, bathroom, laundry and shower facilities. It also has a full kitchen and double-glazed windows.

Here are some photos of the interior. See the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen area below.

We customised the window sizes, locations, cabinetry and floor colours to suit the client’s needs, look and feel. We built the patio on site, laying a cement foundation, for comfortable indoor-outdoor living. A two-split system aircon was added to escape the heat. All taking approximately three months to build from start to finish, including all the council and building permits!
